Ben Fredriksson

born 1978 Turku, Finland. Student degree -97 Handicraft- and industrial design studies in YI Sydväst 99-03. Worked in Granada, Spain for one year as a part of studies making built in cabinets and interiors Andaluce style. 2 years in a 2man shop making high en solid wood tabels for the most distinguished interior shops in Finland, this was the place where passion for furnituremaking really started. 2005 to this day working as carpenter(cabinetmaker...)/planner/designer/project manager in bigger woodworking company making all from luxurious cruise ship interiors, school and hospital furnishings to private minimalistic and traditional interiors.

Started own company, Benvi, 2008, making one off furnitures and small interiors with own design. With a strong knowledge in making wooden furniture and a stubborn way of designing Benvi is aiming to make long lasting furniture that people recognize and love to use.

As inspirers can be mentioned art deco style, dannish carpentry and of course the Finnish simple, esthetic and functional design.
