Above Cambodian model Hong Chhim
GROMAN is a London-based Polish photographer whose interests lie within the fields of psychology, especially dynamics and states of human mind, the relation between the image and its perception and the sartorial matters and their influence on an individual. He is interested in creating fantastic, stylish and lyrical imagery infused with much pathos and adhering to the classical rule of decorum. His favoured areas of photography are portraiture and fashion.
GROMAN stumbled across the Cambodian model Hong Chhim on the Model Mayhem website and naturally thought Hong had great sense of style and was one of the best models he had seen so far! Put simply - wow! So how could we have possibly turned GROMAN down for his present project, which is all about masculinity? Although Hong doesn’t wear guys clothes, he’s not feminine other than in looks and he’s certainly not camp. So what better subject matter for GROMAN to use. What GROMAN is doing with Hong in these amazing shots is exploring the concepts of masculinity in modern fashion imagery, as well as how the society interprets the visual. The technical inspiration for this is the work of Hedi Slimate. So he thought de-saturated colour would add much chiaroscuro. All images will shortly be available mounted in A2 professionally mounted on board and wrapped for international shipping.
