LENE BLADBJERG

LENE BLADBJERG

Born in Denmark in 1974. Lene spent her first childhood years in China and later on in Brussels, Belgium, where she attended the European School, graduating in 1992. It was probably the multinational environment at the European School which prompted Lene's passion for exploring new countries and cultures. To this day, Lene is a keen and open-minded traveller whose ventures have taken her halfway across the globe and these trips are a significant source of inspiration for the young artist. In 1995, Lene moved to Rochester, England to pursue her other major passion: The Arts. After finishing a National Diploma course in Graphic Design, Lene enrolled in the BA(hons) in Graphic Design and Media Design at the London College of Printing. During her four years at the London College, she explored various areas of art and Graphic Design. She graduated in 2000 with a 1:1 degree. Since then, she has been working from her studio in Crystal Palace, South London. Lene enjoys and is inspired by nature and wildlife and this is clear to see. Her motives range from British oak leaves to brightly coloured Philippines flowers; both of which will be portrayed with a keen sense of detail. However, everyday objects and everyday London-life also play an important role in her work. Lene uses a range of media including post cards, photographs, collages and paintings.
