Sexy Furniture in challenging wood

Mario developed a series of Sexy Furniture. During Art-classes at the Institute for Architectural Arts Development in Maassluis Mario Philippona discovered sculpture in large logs of wood. Female forms, the most attractive in nature inspired him. Because working from a log was to constraining and he couldn’t meet the quality standards he set for his furniture work so he started to make working drawings and assemble his sculptures from pre-cut layers of wood. This way he can reproduce the most perfect female forms. This perfectionism he recognizes in the way women use fashion, high heels, fitness and plastic surgery to portray themselves. The female images in for example Playboy are precisely composed and manipulated in PhotoShop. 

'I thought long and hard over whether we should showcase the full range of Mario Philippona's 'Sexy Furniture'. After twenty seconds I thought, yes. As many of my friends know I'm never one to court controversy. But these are studio pieces and they are great art with very favourable future market liquidity. So what better way could there be to invest a part of your 'City Bonus' than into a light stand sculpture by an up and coming international designer with a real passion for the female form. As many of my friends also know, I don't share Mario Philipona's passion for the female form to quite the same extent as him, but I do appreciate his craft'. editor minimalhome
